Dear KingsMen brothers,
Christmas, the birth of Christ, new light in our darkness. Every year this is a feast where most of us exchange good wishes, bring or receive light and find time for family.
Over the past 10 years we as KingsMen have been trying to share light in the darkness of each other lives. Most of you have been participating in one or more KingsMen activities. Perhaps you’ve done one or more Quest sessions, or you’ve participated at a 24h weekend or spend time together with your son or daughter on a father child weekend.
And maybe you’re still active within KingsMen or you stopped after your first activity and are still doubting whether it is right for you.
This year KingsMen are celebrating our 10th anniversary. We never had the intention to start a men’s movement, but today we’re active in 7 countries and we have more than 25 activities a year. You belong to one of those hundreds of men who have walked with us.
In the past ten years we discovered how important it can be for us men to be among men, to challenge each other, to take leadership in our lives, our families and our work and most of all to step out from our passivity.
Passivity, it seems, is the main challenge for most of us men, young and old. TV, internet, phone and all kinds of bad habits tempt us to fall into passivity again. But brotherhood and masculinity don’t go hand in hand with passivity. Passivity is what we fight within KingsMen, it is our biggest enemy.
We’ve seen great things happening in all these years. Several of you shared with us how lives have been changing for you and your family. We’ve seen men taking back responsibility over their live. Women and children shared with us how their husband or father came back from KingsMen fully alive and with a new vulnerable attitude. We’ve seen men taking up sports again, finding new friendships and discovering what brotherhood really means.
Often we men are responsible for being absent in the family, creating chaos and addiction, starting wars; we as KingsMen want to be responsible for harmony in our families, for peace in our environment and for soft power.
KingsMen is a movement where we work together voluntarily as brothers. Our mission is to touch the hearts of men and to take them out of their comfort zone because it is outside your comfort zone where the magic things happen.
More and more men are finding their way to our activities. We need more help to pass on to other men what we experience within KingsMen.
Are you ready to step (back) in? Are you ready to support us with your presence, your prayer or your financial contribution? Are you ready to invite your family and friends to join a KingsMen activity? Are you ready to share what you’ve received?
