Kingsmen is like a warm blanket for me.
A place where you are allowed to be open and free, without judgment.
Without the fear of being the only one.
Without the feeling that you are alone in what you carry.
Within Kingsmen I am repeatedly reminded that I am allowed to face the struggle within myself. That I may search for who I truly am, where I come from, and how my relationship with those around me is. In a world where we often have to be strong and keep going, it is special to be allowed to pause. To pause and reflect on your own heart, your past, your choices, and your desire to be there for yourself and those around you.
Through reading a book together, through conversations with other men, and through moments of silence and reflection, I discover that no one is too old to change. Change is possible, for yourself and for the people around you. If you open your heart to it, you set things in motion—sometimes small, sometimes big, but always with purpose.
Daring to be vulnerable and opening yourself up is not always easy, but it brings you closer to your true core. It helps me become a better man, a better husband, and a better father. It is precisely in that openness that I notice God is working. He is shaping me, step by step.
Each time I return from a Kingsmen weekend or journey, I experience new strength. Strength to keep going, to continue looking honestly at myself, and to keep growing. And even though I sometimes stumble or fall, I know there is always a way back. I am not alone.
Within Kingsmen we work with the strength of the “strong triangle”: spiritual, physical, and intellectual. It helps me see where I stand and where I can grow. It gives direction and stability. But above all, it reminds me that God walks with me in every step.
Kingsmen helps me to live closer to God, to come closer to myself, and to be closer to the people I love. And for that I am grateful.
